Build New Strategies and Take the Lead – My Leadership Map
Talent multiplied by investment (time spent practicing your talent) equals developing and building your strengths.
Strength is the ability to consistently provide near-perfect prominence of that talent. If you have talent, but it’s undeveloped, it’s probably because you haven’t invested in it. Lots of talent multiplied by zero interest equals zero strength. The question is: How do you invest in the talent?
Conversely, trying to develop someone else’s talent can lead to failure. Zero raw talent multiplied by 100 hours of practice still equals zero. For instance, if you wanted to be a ballet dancer but had no talent, even a hundred hours on a tutu in front of a mirror won’t change your strength: You would still be at zero at the ballet. But if you were working on a company’s strategic plan and your strengths were futuristic, strategic and arranger, you would be sure to succeed!
Matching your talent to your investment—that equals power.
Are you committed to uncovering your entire Leadership Map and beginning your new path as a leader? Our Where Does My Leadership Lead Me? is our most comprehensive program to help you gain momentum and knowledge that begins to change your life immediately.
This assessment helps identify the areas where you (or team if being used in that context) have the greatest potential for building strength. It measures recurring patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior. Knowing this information is a starting point. We are able to help individuals, teams and organizations leverage their talents and turn them into sustainable strengths with our recorded One-to-One DISCOVERY sessions. You will take part in an extended one and a half hour session TWICE! Once when we first introduce you to your results and a second time, approximately 30 days later to review how your action plan and give you additional insight into your results. 90 days from the first session you will receive a 30 minute follow up call to review your progress and help you set your path for continued success.
We combine our assessment tools with our ability to build people from the inside out by using positive psychology, and neuroscience to uncover your unique traits and strengths. In a nutshell, positive psychology is “the scientific study of optimal human functioning; focusing on happiness, strength, personal potential and greatest satisfaction.” Many assessment tools focus on fixing something that is wrong, whereas Where Does My Leadership Lead Me? focuses on what works.
The assessment tools we utilize are rooted in and based around neuroscience – “a scientific discipline studying the structure, development, function, and genetics of the brain.” Through the use of cognitive MRI’s, neurologists can actually see the activity of the brain when subjected to certain stimuli. In short, your brain literally lights up when it’s functioning in an area of strength.
Who and what do you bring to the table? Integrating the various strengths in a workplace team creates a well-rounded group. The trick is to bring those people to the table who can help fill our blind spots. How do we do that? Often, we neglect to bring people with other strengths to the table because we are unaware of ourselves and of the need. We take them for granted or don’t see them as particularly distinctive or great, just as sometimes we don’t see our own strengths. Or our own strengths get us into trouble, like when we use them to overcome or overcompensate for someone else’s.
To apply the “Build to Your Strengths” philosophy at work, ask yourself:
“Do I have the opportunity to do what I do best?”
“Do I get to bring my best self to work?”
Focus on seeing these strengths in others and engage in inspiring conversations that help you to support success for all involved by building your strengths together.
It sounds daunting! How do you do this?
Your first step is getting to a placed where you understand you and then learning how to seek and understand others. SO, in the same way you eat an elephant, one bite at a time… allow us to be by your side on your journey on the DISCOVERY of the Strengths in you!
As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has—or will ever have—something inside us that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression. ~ Mr. Rogers
